Amoxicillin is suitable for the following infections caused by sensitive bacteria (strains that do not produce β-lactamase): ear, nose and throat infections: caused by α- and β-hemolytic streptococci, Streptococcus pneumoniae or Haemophilus influenzae; reproductive and urinary tract infections: caused by Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis or Streptococcus faecalis; skin and soft tissue infections: caused by α- and β-hemolytic streptococci, Staphylococcus aureus or Escherichia coli; lower respiratory tract infections: caused by α- and β-hemolytic streptococci, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus or Haemophilus influenzae; uncomplicated gonorrhea.
